Amber Rose was born and raised in South Philadelphia, but the model, author and talk show host is repping the West Coast hard with her latest tattoo – a massive, incredibly realistic image of the iconic “Hollywood” sign inked on her forearm in muted black, white and gray colors as a half-sleeve piece. Rose’s “Hollywood” half-sleeve comes in the aftermath of her split from her boyfriend of five months, Val Chmerkovskiy, and it’s possible the 33-year-old opted to cope with the breakup in the best way she knows how, by going under the needle for what must have been an unbearably painful tattoo.
It was just last week that Amber Rose shared a photo of her fresh ink on Instagram, captioning the snap, “My new tattoo. Great job @nikkohurtado,” and the photo has already been “liked” more than 65,000 times, and for good reason. The impressive ink is stunning in its detail, featuring not only the iconic white “Hollywood” letters, but the darkened landscape behind the sign, a chain-link security fence in the background, and even the scaffolding that holds the massive letters up. The “Hollywood” tattoo appears to have been inked on Rose’s left forearm, where it joins a number of other pieces to form one complete sleeve.
Amber Rose’s “Hollywood” tattoo was inked by California-based artist Nikko Hurtado of the Black Anchor Collective, who includes in his list of celebrity clientele Cheryl Cole, The Game and Kat Von D, and the tat covers a good portion of her forearm, reaching from her wrist to her elbow. Apparently, Hurtado has more work to do on the model’s body, as he included the caption, “more work to come” in his Instagram post of Rose’s tattoo. This fresh “Hollywood” ink joins a number of other unique tattoos on Amber Rose’s arms, including several flowers, portraits (dog and human), a tube of lipstick, marijuana leaves, and a portrait of her ex-husband, Wiz Khalifa.
