Today is Mother’s Day, and we thought we’d honor some of the coolest celebrity moms out there by highlighting the awesome tattoos they got as touching tributes to their children. Most mothers carry around pictures of their children in their wallets, but these six celebrity moms took motherhood pride one step further when they went under the needle to celebrate their children in a unique (and pretty painful) way. Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie has managed to drastically alter her image in recent years, and part of her transformation from Billy Bob Thorton’s blood-vial-wearing girlfriend to future-Mrs.-Pitt and proud mama of six involved covering up some of her crazier tattoos…with more tattoos. Angelina’s most famous tat is probably the ink on her upper left arm that features the geographical coordinates where all of her six children were born, including Cambodia, Ethiopia, Namibian, Vietnam and France. Angelina may not have given birth to all of her kids, but she obviously has nothing but love for Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox and Vivienne.
Julia Roberts
It may come as a surprise to find out that America’s sweetheart Julia Roberts has not one, but a few tattoos, but it’s no surprise that the loving mother’s most visible tat is a tribute to her three kids. Julia sports a medium-sized tattoo in the middle of her lower back featuring the names of her children – 10-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and six-year-old Henry – inked in a horseshoe shape around what looks like a feather. The 46-year-old actress has quite a few other tats inked on her body, but we can guarantee that this one is her most meaningful!
Victoria Beckham
Posh Spice will never catch up to her husband, David Beckham, when it comes to tattoos, but that hasn’t stopped her from trying! Victoria Beckham has several tattoos inked on her body, most of which are tributes to her husband and family, including a set of five twinkling eight-pointed stars on her lower back. 
Victoria’s star tattoo originally included only three stars – for her, David and their first son Brooklyn – but she added two more stars when sons Romeo and Cruz were born. The couple now has a young daughter named Harper, but there’s no word on when Victoria plans to add star number six for her little girl.
Malin Akerman
Actress Malin Akerman turned heartbreak into something positive when she changed a wrist tattoo dedicated to her estranged husband into a permanent memento for son Sebastian this past February. L
ast November, just seven months after the birth of their first child, Malin and husband Roberto Zincone called it quits, and the 35-year-old soon after turned her “Z” wrist tattoo of her ex-husband’s initial from a painful reminder of her failed relationship into a tribute to her son by adding a swirly “S” to the fancy design.
Adele
Adele rocks an elegant “A” tattoo behind her right ear and everyone kind of assumed that it stood for her own name when she debuted the ink at the 2013 Grammy Awards, until she finally revealed the name of her son, Angelo, with partner Simon Konecki. Adele, despite her widespread popularity, 
has always been a super private person and she has succeeded in keeping her little boy out of the limelight so far. Lucky for Angelo though, Adele’s “A” tattoo behind her ear proves just how much she loves him.
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum seemingly survived the relationship tattoo curse when she got husband Seal’s name inked on the inside of her right forearm, along with four stars for children Helene, Lou, Henry and Johan. Unfortunately, Heidi and Seal split up in 2012, and the model has since been hard at work getting the arm tattoo removed, save for the stars. 
Motherhood is forever, after all, and Heidi’s stars tattoo means the 40-year-old is one proud mama!
