The late Tupac Shakur has influenced a number of today’s pop stars, including Rihanna, who honored the rapper in 2012 with a “Thug Life” tattoo on her knuckles, and now Lil Twist has followed suit with his own Tupac tribute tat. The Young Money rapper debuted his brand-new Tupac tattoo on Instagram on January 5, and the tat features a pretty cool portrait of the former member of the Thug Life hip hop group. Lil Twist accompanied the Instagram post with the caption “Only GOD Can Judge Me. I’d rather die like a man, than live like a coward #RIPTupac (Shout out my bro @Johnpetro always lacin me up).”
Lil Twist’s new tattoo was done by tattoo artist John Petro, who has also inked the likes of Chris Brown, and includes a black and white portrait of Tupac wearing a collared shirt and backwards hat, with a large black outline of a star in the upper left-hand corner of the image. The Tupac tat is pretty large and covers almost the entire right side of Lil Twist’s back, which doesn’t seem to be a problem for the inked-up rapper. Lil Twist has a number of other tattoos scattered across random parts of his body, including a bold tattoo of the word “blessed” inked on his left jaw and the words “The World” inked on the palm of his hand.
It’s obvious that Tupac must have had a big influence on Lil Twist, both personally and professionally, even though the two reportedly never met before Tupac was killed in a shooting in 1996, three years after Lil Twist was born. Lil Twist must also have a close connection to fellow YMCMB rapper Lil Wayne, who founded the Young Money Entertainment record label, because his “The World” palm tattoo matches the same tat Lil Wayne has on his own hand. Apparently these two rappers feel like they have the world in the palm of their hands…
