Did you know that Julia Roberts has not one, but “a few” tattoos, including at least one tat she refuses to reveal the location of?? Neither did we! So imagine our surprise when America’s sweetheart sat down with Ellen on May 7 and discussed her extensive collection of family-inspired tattoos, including her most “idiotic” tat, which she got back before she married her husband, cameraman Daniel Moder, more than a decade ago. When asked by Ellen where her tattoos are located, Julia coyly responded, “Some things I can tell you the answer to, and some things I’ll tell you later,” so we’re guessing at least one of Julia’s tattoos is inked in a pretty private spot!
During the Ellen interview on May 7, when asked by Ellen if she has any tattoos, Julia said, “I have all my children’s names and my husband’s initials.” We know, crazy! The 46-year-old actress married Daniel Moder in 2002, but it was long before that that Julia Roberts’ “DM” initials tattoo was inked. According to the Pretty Woman star, “we were brave or idiotic because it was before we got married [that I got the tattoo]” Lucky for Julia, Daniel was kind enough to return the favor, getting a tattoo of Julia’s initials inked on himself as well.
Since launching her acting career in the late 1980s and starring in blockbuster movies like Pretty Woman and Steel Magnolias, Julia Roberts has become one of the most beloved celebrities in all of Hollywood. Because of that fact, some people may actually be turned off by the fact that Julia has a few tattoos, but we’re thrilled to find out that the actress has a rebellious streak after all!
Pictures of Julia Roberts sporting a bikini during a Hawaii vacation with her family in 2009 show the actress with a tattoo inked on the small of her back, featuring the names of her three kids – 10-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and six-year-old Henry, around an image of what looks to be a feather. Older reports also show the actress with a heart tattoo featuring the Japanese Kanji symbol for strength inked on her left shoulder, which she got back when she was dating Kiefer Sutherland. Apparently Julia also has a butterfly tattoo, but she’s keeping that one under wraps, along with the tattoo of her husband’s initials!
