There are so many similar celebrity tattoos out there, you can’t help but wonder if pop stars like Chris Brown and Zayn Malik of One Direction fame look to one another for some ink inspiration. We certainly wouldn’t be surprised, considering Zayn has performed a Chris Brown cover and admitted last year that he is a big fan of the inked-up Breezy (to mixed reviews, of course). Both Zayn Malik and Chris Brown have dozens of tattoos inked on their bodies, including multiple skull tattoos apiece, which led us to feature these inked-up pop stars for the second installation of “Pop Star Tattoo Face-off,” a battle royale, fight to the finish for the best tattoo. Chris Brown’s Matching Skull Hand Tattoos
Chris Brown’s tattoos have grown so much in number over recent years that it’s pretty hard to differentiate between some of them, especially the artwork in his sleeve tats. The identical skull tattoos on his hands are clear as day though, and the matching ink features two realistic-looking grinning skulls with halos over their heads – one on each hand. Breezy has seen his fair share of trouble in recent years, but the pop star says he is finally on a better path, which is apparent in many of his tattoos that deal with darkness and light, including the skull tats.
When asked about his first skull hand tattoo (he got them inked at different times), the singer said, “I got it the day after my 18th birthday [in 2007] and it signifies when you die, when you’re buried, your flesh deteriorates and all that’s left is your bones and the memory of you, it’s your bones but you an angel. 
I wanted to do something not demonic, so I put a halo over it to make it something positive.” Apparently Breezy needed some more positivity in his life, because he later got a matching black and white skull and halo tat on his other hand.
Skull Tats on Zayn Malik’s Arm & Shoulders
One Direction singer Zayn Malik’s tattoo collection also contains multiple skull tattoos, the most recent of which was inked in March 2013. Zayn’s latest skull tattoo depicts a cartoonish skull smoking a cigarette with a top hat on his head and two horns protruding through the hat. The skull tat is inked on Zayn’s left shoulder, and joins two earlier skull tattoos inked on the pop star’s right shoulder and as part of the sleeve on his right arm. 
The first is inked in black and white on the front of his right shoulder and features a pretty scary-looking skull and crossbones design that Zayn apparently named “Earl.” Zayn’s third skull tattoo is slightly larger than the other two, and the tat actually completed the impressive sleeve he has inked on his right arm. This skull tattoo is much more realistic looking, like Chris Brown’s hand tattoos, and is inked in black and white with what looks like a slingshot behind the skull. We don’t think this skull tattoo has a name though…
