Drew Barrymore’s daughters, three-year-old Olive and one-year-old Frankie, are about as cute as it gets, and the proud mama of two decided to get a new tattoo this week in honor of her baby girls. After posting multiple snaps online of herself getting inked at the tattoo parlor, Drew Barrymore finally revealed the fresh tattoo in an Instagram photo posted on April 1 (and no, it wasn’t an April Fool’s Day joke). Drew’s new tattoo is inked on the inside of her right wrist and features – what else – her daughters’ names, “Olive and Frankie,” in a basic black font that looks like handwriting.
Getting tattoos dedicated to your children has become the new norm for proud parents, especially David Beckham, who rocks a “Buster” tattoo on one side of his neck for son Brooklyn, and a “Pretty Lady” tattoo on the other side for daughter Harper, among other pieces inspired by his kids. Drew Barrymore obviously adores her two little girls, who are already taking after their mama’s good looks, and she captioned the Instagram photo of her wrist tattoo, “Getting a great little lifetime note on my arm.” Drew didn’t indicate which artist inked her wrist tattoo, but the text looks like it was modeled after someone’s handwriting.
Drew’s daughters are still too young to write their own notes to mommy, so we’re not sure if the wrist tattoo was inspired by the actress’ own handwriting, or possibly her husband’s (and the girls’ father), Will Kopelman. Either way, Drew Barrymore’s tattoo is super sweet and touching, and is something she will definitely never regret. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, this isn’t Drew’s first tattoo. She also has an outline of a bird inked on her forearm, a butterfly on her abdomen, a cross design on her leg, and an arm tattoo of the word “breathe,” to remind her to meditate.
