Chris Brown’s Smiley Face Skull Tattoo on His Back

Chris Brown loves tattoos and every once in a while new tattoos just seem to suddenly show up on his body. Just last year, Chris Brown got a new tattoo featuring a traditional smiley face with a decidedly Breezy twist – a human skull hidden underneath the smiley face, showing it’s toothy and bony grin. Pictures of Chris Brown’s back tattoo cropped up on Twitter after he got it inked, thanks to girlfriend Karrueche Tran. She tweeted, “Breezy tat! Smiley,” and included the picture of the creepy smiley face inked on Chris Brown’s back. Cute…we think.

Since getting his smiley face tat Chris Brown has gotten yet another back tattoo, this time featuring two large feathers that appear to be embedded in his skin. Chris Brown’s feathers tat is inked right above the smiley face, criss-crossing one another to land just below his neck and stars tattoo. Wondering why Breezy opted for feathers? Feather tattoos are often meant to represent spirituality, and the singer has several other tattoos inspired by religion, death or darkness, including his skull with halo tat on his hand, his Jesus arm tattoo, and the ninjas tattoo also on his arm.

Smiley Face Tat on Breezy’s Back

Even though Chris Brown’s back tattoo is a tad bit creepy, it’s likely that the smiley face means something important to the singer/actor. Many of Chris Brown’s tattoos have a very personal meaning, especially those that have to do with where he grew up and how he struggled as a child. For example, Chris Brown got a tattoo on his right bicep that features two ninjas fighting with swords, accompanied by the words “Darkness to Light.” According to Chris Brown, this arm tattoo represents the time he spent hanging out with the wrong crowd as a child, and then finally finding his own path later in life. As Breezy said about his sleeve tat, “This is the demon that I used to fight when I was younger, this is the angel, they just battled.” Perhaps Chris Brown’s tattoo on his back could have a similar meaning; representing how the superstar continues to struggle with his inner demons, but still manages to put on a happy face.

Chris Brown’s chest and arms are so tatted up, it’s just plain weird to see his back with only a smiley face tattoo, or with the smiley and feathers in newer pictures. It makes you start to wonder what plans Chris Brown has for the rest of his back…one large back tattoo or several small tats like he has on his arms?
