Unlike her famous siblings, Kendall Jenner has decided to take her sister Kim’s advice when it comes to tattoos, and plans to remain ink-free for the foreseeable future. According to her new Allure interview (and cover!), which hit the stands this month, Kendall explains, “I have a really weird thing with ‘forever.’ And my sister Kim always said, ‘Don’t put a bumper sticker on a Bentley.’” In 2011, Kim also told Us Weekly, “I’m not a fan of tattoos. Especially at a young age when you change your mind so much.” It appears that younger sister Kendall agrees!
Kim isn’t the only sister who’s dissuaded Kendall from getting inked up. In 2011, for her 16th birthday, Kendall was considering getting a tattoo, but after talking to her sister Kourtney, she opted for a sharpie marker faux-tat of a skull wearing an American Indian head-dress on her back instead. (Maybe Kourtney talked Kim out of her rumored Kanye tattoo this past summer as well?) Kendall and her sister Kylie shocked fans a few times that summer with their sharpie tats. Why? Who knows. It’s not uncommon to see a tattoo on a runway model these days, and Kendall’s best friend Cara Delevingne has 17 to her name already! But Kylie shares her sister’s hesitance, and has said she tries to stay away from tattoo shops because while she wants one, her fear of getting a bad one is greater. That’s some serious self-control!
The younger girls’ tendency to stay away from permanent ink is understandable, especially when there are already so many bad tattoos in the family. Kendall’s sister Khloe has a tattoo on her hand with her now ex-husband’s initials, and her brother Rob’s ex-girlfriend, Adrianne Bailon, just started laser surgery to get his name taken off her body. Even matriarch Kris Jenner has a “tramp stamp” tattoo on her lower back of a cross with, ironically, Kylie and Kendall’s names. But with a best friend as crazy as Cara Delevinge seems, and with rumors of them possibly becoming roommates, there’s no telling what will happen with Kendall Jenner and tattoos. Because, as we all know, no one can truly ‘Keep up’ with that family.
